The location
The city
Barcelona is an open, cosmopolitan city with a clear Mediterranean vocation and an undeniably European identity. It shares with the peoples of the Mediterranean basin a long history of influences, dialogue and cooperation. With its exceptional geographical location, proud of its traditions, innovative and active, Barcelona boasts a vibrant, participative civil society that believes in peace, democracy and human rights.
This wide range of strengths led to the city playing host to the birth of the Barcelona Process in 1995 and continually strengthens its position as a point of reference for dialogue and cooperation in the Mediterranean.
Pedralbes Palace
This historic building lies on the Avinguda Diagonal, one of Barcelona’s main road arteries and the city’s financial and commercial axis.
Surrounded by 74,000 square metres of gardens, the Palace’s main building has a range of rooms to host official ceremonies and a capacity for 300 people. The upper floors of the building have all the attributes for hosting the headquarters of international bodies.
