Euromed Ministerial Conference held in Marseilles

The Foreign Ministers of the 43 member states of the Union for the Mediterranean (UpM) have chosen Barcelona as the seat of the Secretariat of the Euro-Mediterranean association.

The city’s candidature promoted by the Spanish and Catalan governments and by Barcelona City Council, gained the unanimous support of all the participants at the Euromed Ministerial Conference held in Marseilles on 3 and 4 November 2008 (see final Declaration).

The IEMed warmly welcomes this new organisation and would like to thank all those who have expressed their opinion on this web site in support of Barcelona’s candidature.
