Institut Europeu de la Mediterrània

The European Institute of the Mediterranean, an initiative with an international vocations and headquarters located in Barcelona, has the mission of studying the Mediterranean, boosting its cultural diversity and richness and making it a space for freedom, good neighbourliness and shared wealth.

It is a consortium between the Government of Catalonia, Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Barcelona City Council. The IEMed provides support for research, debate and informational activities, acts as a platform for initiatives in support of cooperation with the countries of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean and as a cultural centre promoting mutual understanding and dialogue.
